The MDMC programme is developed within a dynamic ecosystem of research and innovation, bringing together academic excellence and applied expertise in data management and curation.
Institutions, research centres, and private organisations are welcome to engage with the programme by contributing to its interdisciplinary and application-oriented approach.
MDMC is designed to develop skills that are relevant across both research and industry. The programme combines scientific data management, technical expertise and FAIR-by-design approaches, providing competencies that can be applied in public research institutions, research infrastructures and private companies.
Research institutions and private companies are welcome to collaborate with MDMC and contribute to the training of the next generation of data professionals. Two main forms of collaboration are available:
- Fund a full student position and host the student for the internship. Partner organisations contribute to the selection process and can select a student among the eligible candidates to be supported and subsequently hosted for the internship.
- Host a student for the internship. Organisations can propose an internship project, which will be presented to MDMC students and may lead to a match based on the student’s interests, skills and project requirements.
Data management challenges are often described using different terminology in research and industry, but the underlying problems are frequently the same. MDMC aims to bridge these environments by providing a common methodological framework for understanding, addressing and solving data management challenges across different organisational and application contexts.
Collaboration with research laboratories, public institutions and private companies broadens the range of experiences and real-world data challenges available to MDMC students. At the same time, the diversity of scientific disciplines, professional backgrounds and application domains represented within the programme creates a strongly interdisciplinary learning environment for each MDMC cohort.
